The Parish of Incarnation – St. James (ISJ) has been a Catholic spiritual home for residents of the City of Trenton and Township of Ewing going back to 1917. Through the years, our touchstone has been Jesus Christ. Today, we are still called to be witnesses of the gospel. As St. James writes in his epistle, we are to be “doers of the word and not hearers only” (James 1:22a).

In 2006, the two parishes merged to become the faith community of Incarnation - St. James. The merger and change in demographics brought challenges, but also brought opportunities that inspire us to stretch our imaginations, appreciate the richness of diversity, and grow in our image of God and Church. Our parishioners reflect the dynamic, diverse, and welcoming posture that expresses our Catholic faith at its best with people from several countries in Central and South America, the Caribbean, Africa, new migrants from Europe, Asia and the Pacific. We are a community of many cultures, colors, and languages.
